The flowers were late again this year, so we would expect that fruit would not be available until mid January 2021. However the flowering was prolific – the 60+ beehives on site couldn’t keep up with it!
We have spent much of the winter preparing the plantation for farm visits, with new gardens planted, two permanent flow hives installed, a solar powered chicken caravan purchased and attractions for children including a seven hole mini-golf course laid out. As we are the only farming operation in the Burdekin open for visits we expect to attract those who don’t have a chance to see where their food comes from.
More details of the visits may be found on our Farm Visit page.
